SAFETY4SEA recently asked me to share my thoughts on ESG Watch: Expert Thinking on ESG in the maritime industry. While we focus a lot on all aspects of ESG, including crew comfort, I took this opportunity to highlight the effort that still needs to be put into crew accommodation at the shipbuilding stage. I know from my years at sea how important proper living quarters are for seafarers; hope ship designers also take an ocean trip to appreciate how crew comfort helps move the needle on ship safety.
